The Power of Words at IU Auditorium

The Friends of the Library and Monroe County Public Library present The Power of Words with civil rights icon Congressman John Lewis (GA-5), co-writer Andrew Aydin, and local artist Nate Powell.

The Power of Words is a free ticketed event and takes place Monday, September 21, at 7:30 p.m. in IU Auditorium.

The Power of Words at IU Auditorium is presented in partnership with the Indiana Memorial Union Board.


The Power of Words is a free event. There are no free tickets remaining, however, there are still many seats available. If you did not get a ticket and want to attend The Power of Words, you are encouraged to join the stand-by line at IU Auditorium Monday evening. All empty seats will be filled from the stand-by line 15 minutes before the program begins.

If you do have a ticket, please make sure to be at IU Auditorium and in your seat by 7:15 p.m.

The stand-by and ticket lines will be recognized by IU Auditorium at 5:30 p.m.

The Power of Words will also be streamed live by Community Access Television Services (CATS) on the Library Channel and online.

Free parking is available at IU's Atwater and Poplar parking garages, including a free shuttle to and from IU Auditorium.  Full parking and shuttle information.
